Gianna / Senior Class 2018 / Queensbury, NY

It's been a few years since I have photographed a session in the hallways of the Shirt Factory building where my studio is located. Generally, sessions take place within my studio or out on location somewhere. So when I received an inquiry from Gianna and her mother for Senior portraits and they said they wanted to have them taken in throughout the building, using the brick walls, windows, etc; I was pretty excited.

We started Gianna's session outside in the courtyard area for a few images.

Then she changed outfits and we wandered the halls, stopping on the stairs and landing to get some fun images. She totally rocked her session with some model like poses and expressions!

At the end of her session, we had to grab a few images with her Duke jersey!

I wish you all the luck in your Senior year Gianna!

Gwyn — 2017 Senior

It can be a funny thing, how we meet people and how our lives intertwine over time. When my oldest was in Pre-K, Gwyn's mom was his teacher's assistant, and we just loved having her in his classroom! But even before that, a handful of years earlier, I worked at Sears Portrait Studio (straight out of Photography school). While working there, Jennifer had brought her little ones in for portraits. Fast forward some years, we won't state how many ;) and Jennifer was contacting me to photograph Gwyn for her High School Senior Portraits! We chatted about the experience I offer, and how different it is from what she experienced at Sears. Then we booked her session date!

After emailing back and forth about locations, we settled on this gorgeous victorian house in Hudson Falls, with amazing flower gardens and also the Five Combines just down the road. Not only was I excited to capture this special time in Gwyn's life, but I was just as excited about photographing her at this house. I have admired this house many times as I drive by it, always thinking to myself, "it would be amazing to photograph a session there!" And it was! How gorgeous is Gwyn amid all these flowers?

Half way through her session we headed over to the Five Combines, and oh how I had forgotten just how gorgeous the light is there! Gwyn totally rocked her images, doesn't she look like a fashion model?!

Towards the end of the session, she threw on her softball clothes, put her hair up, and you could just see the comfort radiating from her. This was her. This is where she feels most herself.

Gwyn, I hope you have the most amazing Senior year and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for you! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this time in your life and capturing these images.
