Neil Getty / Newborn Session

Watching families grow is such a fun part of my job, and I get so excited when they return for me to photograph their newest additions! This sweet family has trusted in me to capture all three of their handsome little guys over the years. Their newest bundle of joy, Neil, was recently in the Erin Marie Photography Studio, for his ‘modeling’ debut. I photographed both of his big brothers, and for each of their sessions mom brought something specific to personalize some images. Big bother Ford, we photographed with a Ford street sign and cowboy boots. Big brother Jack, had cute letter signs to spell out his name. For Neil’s session, mom found this adorable milk bottle swaddle blanket, which was perfect as they are a dairy farm family! She also brought in an old family metal milk box that has the farm name, Ideal Dairy Farms, on it. Just look at this handsome fella!

Neil wanted to check out all the happenings during his session, but we eventually got him tired out and he fell asleep for some wrapped images.

Mom had this super cute swaddle blanket with cows on it, and I just had to grab a few images of him wrapped all snug in it!

And as mom is a plaid fan, using the plaid scarf that I had on hand in the studio was a must do!

Thank you Rella & Kyle, for the honor of capturing all three of your handsome boys!

Angela & Dan / Maternity Session

Maternity sessions hold a special place in my heart to photograph. These handful of months (what sometimes feels like years lol) pass so quickly, and it’s a time when a woman’s body is doing such incredible things; you know, like creating another human! As a mom who’s been through multiple pregnancies, I completely understand the moments of uncomfortableness, feeling huge and unattractive. But let me tell you, it’s one of the most beautiful times in your life! I love to document that and show you how gorgeous you truly are in those moments. <3

Angela and Dan received a maternity & newborn session as a baby shower gift, what an awesome gift right?! They were recently in the Erin Marie Photography Studio for their maternity session and let me tell you, they were so much fun to work with! Angela and I had chatted beforehand and I was able to gather that she really liked silhouette images and a very simplistic style to the images. I advised her on what would work best in clothing choices to achieve the type of looks she liked. Just look at that gorgeous baby bump!

While maternity sessions generally focus on momma-to-be and her growing belly, I love to capture images of parents together in this special time of their lives. And like most loving and supportive significant others, while Dan might not have cared so much about being photographed; he was a great sport and followed my directions when included in images. Though I think his favorite parts of the session were probably when I would tell him he could sit and relax for a few minutes while I photographed Angela :D

I can not wait to meet and photograph their little one, very soon!

Bubs & Myranda / Maternity / Baby Plan

Bubs & Myranda's maternity session was everything I love.....a fun couple, gorgeous mama to be, amazing location & weather/light, and a couple who said, "we trust you, do whatever you want." and then listened to all my suggestions/recommendations from styling of outfits to location! <3

I first met Myranda when she answered a call I put out for a personal project Together: Bringing Loss to Light, about pregnancy & infant loss. When she came in to my studio for her session for the project, we instantly 'clicked'.  A few months after she shared her loss story with me, she contacted me to say that she was pregnant again (yay!) and wanted to book a baby plan. I was not only ecstatic for her and Bubs, but I was so excited to get to share in this journey with them and document it.

We chatted about details and style for their maternity session, and when she chose this beautiful white bohemian style dress, I knew we had to photograph the session at Crown Point, NY. I spent an evening at her house going through their wardrobe to help coordinate Bubs outfit with her dress and select accessories too! Not only was it a great way to help take the stress off of her in figuring all that out on her own, but it gave us another chance to build a relationship, which is so important when portraying a couple's personalities in their images.

Knowing that Myranda & Bubs had previously lost a baby, I knew I had to incorporate something special into a few images to honor their first child. After chatting with Myranda about ideas, I ended up surprising her with a flower crown that I handmade, using deep red flowers in reference to the baby's birthstone color. During the session, there was this gorgeous hill filled with 'wishing flowers' that could be seen through an opening in the stone structure. The combination gave us the significant & special images that honor their first baby.

We planned a second outfit and right after they had changed, the cloud coverage (that was perfection for the first half of the session) shifted and this gorgeous setting sun was in the most wonderful location to grab a few amazing sunburst images.

Then we walked over to another location and found this, what we deemed, a pregnant mother tree. This tree had a bend in it that replicated a pregnant mother's belly. And that sunset lit the sky exquistily to grab some silhouette images.

Literally, all of a sudden it looked like the sky was on fire!

I can not wait to meet this little one and share in this family's growing joy.

A huge thank you to my girl Krystal from Brayton Photography for assisting me with this session.
