This is one of my favorite events that I get to do each year. And you guys, I can't believe that this is my 5th year doing it! How crazy is that?!
This event is so much fun because we get to create an awesome Halloween set in the studio for one day. Then we get to see all your little ones dressed up in their costumes!! The kids love coming in and getting their portrait taken in their costumes on our Halloween set, and it's for such a great cause. This charity event raises money that gets donated to the M-CM Network.
Don't know what that is? Macrocephaly-capillary malformation (M-CM) is a rare, genetic syndrome first identified by researchers in the late 1990's. Many medical providers are unfamiliar with M-CM and affected children and their families face more questions than answers regarding the course of this condition. The M-CM network provides comprehensive medical information about M-CM to aid in diagnosis and treatment decisions. Their goal is to establish a disease registry to collect data about affected individuals so that they can greatly expand the scope of what is known about M-CM.
Why do I host this event every year and donate the proceeds to M-CM? The answer is simple. To support two awesome little guys that I have had the pleasure of photographing since they were born, that are both affected by M-CM. Logan & Sawyer are two of the most amazing little guys you will ever get to meet. Their personalities just shine, and the smiles they give you just melt your heart <3
This event is a great platform to raise awareness for this disease that so many have never heard of. It takes a village to raise a child, and I couldn't be more honored to have a small part in these little guys lives. I love being able to share and give back to my local communities!
In addition to the portraits, there is also a basket raffle. Really, who doesn't love a good basket raffle?! I know I do :) Each year we get some really great items from local businesses and residents, and we can not express enough our thanks and appreciation for their generosity! The money raised from the basket raffle gets divided between the M-CM Network, and the Reyes' and Middleton/Wright families. These funds are given to Logan and Sawyer's families, to help with medical and travel costs (to Boston hospital).
If you or someone you know would like to donate a basket, item, or gift certificate to the raffle, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you in advance for any donations!
There is an event page set up that you can view here 5th Annual Halloween Event Feel free to check it out, you can even share it with family & friends!
And I'll just leave you with a few images from last years event, because who doesn't love seeing cute images of adorable kiddos in costume!
